i know it's kinda like the public and media is making a big deal out of this. and i was kinda like oh well, can we please stop hearing & talking about this, even while watching his service today off & on. but then at the end, his little girl, Paris, stood up to say a few words. and the few words she said, something along the lines of, "i just want to say that ever since i was born, my daddy has been the best father anyone could ever have, and i love him, and i miss him." followed by her bursting into tears, and sobbing from her already red swollen eyes. that's when reality hit hard. he was the daddy to 3 children. they can't ever have him back. the pain they are feeling and will feel is what matters. and i'm sure they care that their daddy is gone, even if you (or we) as public don't.

    just my two cents.

When media coverage becomes excessive, the whole activity becomes an example of poor taste, crass commercialism, and maudlinism.

I do... But that's because he was such a great icon and influence to music. I became a fan way before his lupus and vitiligo (when his skin started getting lighter and lighter). Amidst all of the recent negativity surrounding him, I still remember him as the performer he was. And, aside from all of that, due to me being a sensitive sucker about the passing of any living being, I can never say anything bad about Michael's death.
